Me

Hello, This is my landing page!

Here you can read more about me and get information on services I can provide.  I may post a blog or two once and a while.

About me:

I am a Physical Therapist that believe the best care is helping people help care for themselves better. I work hard at learning the best practices to help my clients achieve their goals. After graduating from Pacific University in Oregon in 2003, I worked lived in San Francisco for 10 years working in private practice and and hospital based orthopedics / wellness. Since 2012, I have worked done travel PT mostly in Outpatient Orthopedic clinics in 6 different states. During this time I have visited 190 CrossFit gyms, became CF-L1 certified and apply many of these strength training concepts into my treatment philosophy. I utilize a blend of Selective Functional Movement Asssessment (SFMA), Austarailian Approach (Maitland) as top tier treatment decision making. This blended in with concepts learned from Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), Functional Movement Techniques (Rocktape, IASTM, cupping), Postural Respiration Institute (PRI), Weightlifting (Clinical Athlete) and Strength Training (CSCS), Precision Nutrition (PN1), Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism (P&PA), Integrated Kinetic Neurology (IKN), and general wellness concepts gives me a very broad knowledge base to help my clients.

History of my love for movement:

I always play hard. Growing up my passions were basketball, golf, and softball. After 2 years of playing Union Rugby at Northern Arizona University, I decided to walk onto the golf team my senior year. College athletics is where I fell in love with the weight room and led me to getting my CSCS through NSCA. After graduating Physical Therapy school I began running, cycling and doing triathlons. During this time I completed the AIDS/Lifecycle ride through most of California and did Ironman Vineman 70.2. When I am not working, training, or volunteering I am exploring new trails (running or MTB) or camping in National Parks with my partner and dog, Lakota.

Operation Rainbow

Along with the love travel is to volunteer while traveling. I have been to Central and South America (Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic) over 15 times to volunteer with Operation Rainbow.

During these trips, I will see 30-50 post surgical patients and many non surgical patients for Physical Therapy during our week long missions.  The teamwork and comraderie during medical mission trips is priceless and I have met many lifelong friends through OR.  These trips remind me every year why I wanted to become a Physical Therapist.  Helping people heals all of us.

  1. Hi! I’m Sue, and I’m from SlimKicker, a fitness/diet app and site. I came across your blog a few days ago and it captured my interest!

I’m contacting you b/c we’re about to release a fitness tracker (similar to FitBit) early next year, and are looking for bloggers who would be interested in getting 1 for free to review when it is out (negative or positive).

Would you be interested in doing this? You can email me at: sue (at) slimkicker (com) with ‘Review’ in the email heading if you are.

Just to let you know, our site SlimKicker basically turns your fitness/diet goals into a level up game. The tracker will work in conjunction the website, and allow people to track calories burned and number of steps they walk automatically. The more they exercise, the more points they rack up! That’s basically how it will work.

Anyway, hope to hear back either way…

  4. I really liked your article! It was very informational. I mainly focused on the article about knee arthritis and how that can occur with injuries in early years. Great articles!
